Winter Weather is Coming - No Parking on Streets - Emergency Shelter Available

WINTER WEATHER IS COMING!
NO PARKING ON ASHMORE STREETS:
- No parking is permitted along the streets in Ashmore when accumulation is 2" or greater. Please find alternative parking. Vehicles parked along the streets will be deemed hazardous and will be towed if the owners cannot be reached.
- Give snow plows a lot of space - do not pass or follow too closely
- Move any trash cans or other items away from the edge of the street.
- Remind your children not to burrow into snow drifts/piles or play under snow caps. Collapsing snow can trap, crush, or suffocate.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE:
- For all medical emergencies, call 911.
- For local non-medical emergencies, contact the Village 24-hr line at 217-349-8332 and leave a voicemail with your name, number and reason for calling, and someone will call you back as soon as possible.
EMERGENCY SHELTER:
- Ashmore's emergency shelter is the Community Center at 211 S Illinois St. It will have power, heat, bathrooms and water. It does not have showers or a kitchen.
- If you lose power and need shelter, please bring blankets, pillows, basic toiletries, medicines, etc. Village is not responsible for lost/stolen items.
- All occupants/visitors must sign in/out for safety and accountability.
- Pets must be secured in a kennel or carrier, and may be taken to a separate (safe & heated) location.
- A designated Village representative will be available to answer questions. All decisions made by the Village representative are final.
